4. MAINTENANCE
All maintenance operations should be performed with the oil pressure released and
the air supply disconnected.
Regular routine maintenance should be carried out as follows:
– Every month, lubricate the pivot pin of the pedal (12) with 3 drops of general purpose
lubricating oil.
– With the pump at rest, the oil level must cover at least half of the sight glass (01).
Top up if necessary, as detailed in section 4.1).
If necessary to:
– Replace the high pressure hose (refer to section 4.2).
– Calibrate the max pressure valve (refer to section 4.3).
4.1) Oil top up
– Place the pump on a fl at surface
– Unscrew the reservoir cap (09) and top up the oil until a level is reached, half way up
the sight glass (01)
– Refi t and tighten the reservoir cap (09).
Always use clean recommended oil, see § 1.
Do not use old or recycled oil.
Do not hydraulic brake fl uid.

4.2) Replacement of the high pressure hose
– Using a fl at spanner "19", unscrew the hose from the coupler (11).
– Carefully clean the coupler (11) to remove any residual sealing materials.
– Restore the gasket (tefl on tape) on the (male) thread of the new hose.
– Connect the new hose to the coupler (11), and fully tighten to a torque of 50 Nm (37 lbf ft).
4.3) Calibration of the max pressure valve
After an extensive period of working, the maximum pressure relief valve may go out of cali-
bration. This is generally noticeable when the dies (or blades) fail to close completely.
Do not attempt to adjust the maximum pressure relief valve, return the pump to Cembre,
(refer to section 7.)
Cembre shall not be held responsible for damage or injuries caused by unauthorised
