2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
2.1) Setting
(Ref. to Fig. 5)
– Connect the control pedal (12) to the pump, using the polarised, quick-connect couplers
(04 and 06).
– Connect the pump to a suitable compressed air supply 3 and 6 bar (60 and 120 psi).
Do not operate the pump if the air supply pressure is greater than 6 bar (120 psi).
– Connect the pump to a Cembre hydraulic crimping or cutting head, using the quick
coupler fitted to the hydraulic hose.
– Position the pump and the pedal on a smooth, flat surface for optimum stability during
operation.
– The ambient working temperature must not exceed 50°C (122°F), the working environ-
ment must be free from corrosive substances, oils and grease.
2.2) Operation
(Ref. to Fig. 3)
Press the "PUMP" side of the pedal (12) to activate the pump and to commence the
build up of pressure. Continue pumping until the operation is complete (crimping operation
- dies touching, cutting operation - cable severed).
Note: for crimping operations, continue pumping until the maximum pressure valve is
activated and a repetitive "click" is heard.
To release the oil pressure in the head, press the "RELEASE" side of the pedal (12).
To halt the operation at any stage or to stop the pump and maintain the oil pressure,
release the pedal (12).
2.3) Storage
After the completion of the work, release the oil pressure and disconnect the air supply.
Coil the hose around the casing and cover the pump to protect from dust. Store the pump
in a clean, dry enviroment.
3. WARNING
The tool is robust and requires very little daily maintenance.
Compliance with the following points should help to maintain the optimum performance
of the tool:
3.1) Accurate cleaning
Dust, sand and dirt are a danger for any hydraulic device.
Avoid placing the pump on muddy or dusty ground.
Every day, after use, the pump and the pedal must be wiped with a clean cloth, taking care
to remove any residual particles especially close to pivots and moveable parts.
3.2) Storage
When not in use, the tool should be suitably protected and stored to prevent damage.
The oil pressure inside the head must always be fully refeased before disconnecting
the head from the hose.
3.3) Flexible hose
– The flexible hose is suitable for high operating pressures and should not be tightly bent,
kinked, squashed or knotted.
– When in use the hose must be kept straight, to avoid any kinking.
