Troubleshooting

If the device does not work properly, fi rst check whether you are able to rectify the prob-
lem yourself.
Do not attempt to repair an electrical device yourself!
Problem
The device cannot
be switched on.
The fuse in the fuse
box is triggered.
The performance is
weak.
Dust escapes from
the device during
cleaning.
The mains cable
cannot be wound up
fully.
During vacuum
cleaning, an un-
pleasant smell is
detected.

Possible cause
The mains plug is not inserted
correctly in the plug socket.
The plug socket is defective.
No mains voltage is present.
Too many devices connected
to the same circuit.
Is the exhaust air valve (2) on
the handle (1) open?
Is the dust container (8) too
full?
Are the fi lters heavily clogged?
Is the nozzle, the telescopic
tube (3) or the suction hose (9)
clogged?
Is the dust container (8) closed
correctly and / or not (correctly)
inserted into the device?
Are the fi lters heavily clogged?
The mains cable was not cor-
rectly wound up in the device.
The device is being used for
the fi rst time.
Fix
Insert the mains plug.
Try another plug socket.
Check the fuse of the mains
connection.
Reduce the number of devic-
es in the circuit.
Close the exhaust air
valve (2).
Empty the dust container (8).
Clean the dust container (8)
and all fi lters.
Switch off the device, pull
the mains plug out of the
plug socket and remove the
blockage.
Correct the fi t of the dust
container (8).
Clean the dust container (8)
and all fi lters.
Pull the mains cable out a little
and press the button (13)
for winding up the cable.
A smell often develops when
new devices are fi rst used.
The smell should disappear
once the device has been
used several times.
