4.2.3 OUT1 / OUT2

Generic menu term for configuring the switching outputs Q1 and Q2.

4.2.3.1 LIMIT 1 / 2

Adjustment of the switching point in mm steps. LIMIT 1 and LIMIT 2 are mutually independently
adjustable.
Range: - 016 383 mm ... + 032 766 mm

4.2.3.2 HYST 1 / 2

Adjustment of the switching hysteresis in 2 mm steps positioned symmetrically around the switching
point. If the combination of LIMIT and HYST exceeds the measuring range, the particular measuring
range end value becomes the hysteresis switching value.
Range: 0 ... 0254 mm

4.2.3.3 NORM 1 / 2

Inversion of the switching outputs ( HIGH / LOW resting state):
Q: LOW when reading < switching limit
Q : HIGH when reading < switching limit

4.2.4 AVRG

Parameter setting for the average calculation
Status as delivered: 4
Range: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128
The average calculation affects all interfaces of the DME: Serial interface, switching outputs and
alphanumeric display.
The average calculation is progressive and extends the measurement reading output cycle length by
n x 21 ms.

4.2.5 RESPONSE TIME

Parameter setting of the response time.
Status as delivered: 40 ms
Range: 20, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200 ms

4.2.6 MODE

Measuring range selection
In 16 m mode, readings up to 16 m measured distance are plausible if re-emission is adequate. The
2 m mode permits measurement of objects with very small re-emission. Readings up to 2000 mm are
here plausible. Measuring range overshoot leads to incorrect measurement reading output without
plausibility error message.

4.2.7 Physical Profibus Link

4.2.7.1 Parameterization Profibus slave address

This menu serves for creating the Profibus slave address. The DME 3000 is operated via this address.
Each address may only be assigned once in the network. The Profibus slave address can also be set
via the Profibus interface.
