3 Commissioning

On connecting the power supply voltage, the device shows the type designation in the display (Fig. 1).
After initialization, the DME 3000 switches over after 5 s to display of the current measurement
reading and the device is ready for operation.
A fault present at initialization time is displayed as an error code.
Initialization errors abort the sequence before the beginning of measurements and the device is then
not ready for operation (see Chapter 5.3). If an error appears during measurements, the current
measurement is discontinued, the error code is displayed and the error output is set to LOW.

3.1 Parameter setting

Parameter setting for the DME 3000 is performed with a self-explanatory menu in tree-structure with
three hierarchical levels. The tree structure permits specific selection of a particular parameter.
All parameters are displayed in succession by pressing the ENTER button repeatedly.
Parameter search and the numerical entries are made with the ! / " buttons.
A selected parameter or a numerical entry is confirmed with the ENTER button (Fig.1).
When in measuring mode, the parameter menu is accessed by pressing the ! / " button. As
protection against unintentional or unauthorized changes, a code number must first of all be entered
with the ! / " buttons and confirmed with the ENTER button (Fig. 1).

Entering an incorrect code number or making no entry here also accesses the menu and permits
inspection of all set parameter values, but they cannot be changed.
All entries confirmed with ENTER are saved in non-volatile memory after leaving the menu (EEPROM)
and are preserved even when the power supply voltage is not connected.

The code number is specified in Section 0 and can be obliterated on
handover to the final operator.
