8. Selecting the place of installation

In principle, we recommend the installation of several smoke detectors in the
building of in the apartment. On any account, in multistory buildings, one smoke
detector must be installed on each floor. This allows for a timely and effective
warning in case a fire starts.
Smoke detectors must be installed in a way that secures the way to the bedroom
(entrance area, hall and stairway). They must also be audible through closed
bedroom doors in the case of an alarm.

Due to the radio technique of the smoke detector "RM 100-2 BiDi-
S", all smoke detectors set off an alarm if one of them identifies
smoke. The same is valid if smoke detectors of the series
"RM 100" are cable-interconnected.
The characteristic of this particular product allows for example the
signalling of a fire occuring in the living room (faulty television)
or in the nursery (children playing with fire) in the bedroom of the
parents.
Compared to conventional "normal" smoke detectors, this product
offers an additional protection.
