d) Shock Sensor Setting (fi gure 12c)
Sensitivity of the G-sensors (shock sensors) can be set in detail here. Since every vehicle
has individual driving properties (a car differs from a bus; there are vehicles with stiff and
soft defl ection, the front windshields have different angles of inclination, etc.), this may
require repeated setting and "test drives" to avoid the sensors' triggering too early or too
late. The higher the value set, the lower the sensitivity.
The "X"-axis reacts to all events of impacts from the front (vehicle bumped into
something) or from the back (something has bumped into the vehicle).
The "Y"-axis reacts to all events where there was an abrupt change of direction to
the left or right.
The "Z"-axis reacts to all events where the vehicle has run, e.g. through a pothole.
e) Vehicle Information (fi gure 12d)
An input fi eld for "Vehicle Information" permits input of up to 20 characters (alphanu-
meric, spaces included) for identifying the vehicle (e.g. license plate). The charac-
ters entered are displayed when video is played back.
f) Speed Alarm (fi gure 12d)
A permissible speed may be entered in the input fi eld. When the "on" checkmark is
set, a warning is emitted when the speed entered is exceeded (sound sequence).
Speed measurement and therefore alarm is only possible if the car
camera receives a GPS signal (GPS-LED lit blue).
