b) Reversing Camera

• The optional reversing camera has no water-resistant construction and is there-
fore not suitable for outdoor operation.
• During installation and operation, observe the applicable approval provisions and
the road traffi c ordinance (Straßenverkehrsordnung). Before driving abroad, fi nd
out if installation, installation site and operation of the reversing camera are per-
missible and do not violate applicable laws or regulations.
• Never connect the reversing camera to any other voltage supply but the car
camera with GPS (item no. 840462).
• Ensure proper commissioning of the system. Observe the operating instructions
for it.
• Operation with the optionally available camera as reversing video system facilitates
parking but does not remove your obligation to take care. Observe the road traffi c
regulation Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVO). Operation at a speed above 3 km/h is
at your own risk and not recommended. There is a great danger of accidents.
A reversing system is to increase safety and protection. It is not intended for replac-
ing other secure driving habits. Precise checking and looking back before reversing
are recommended. This applies in particular in the proximity of pedestrians or in
places where traffi c runs perpendicular to the reversing direction, as well as for use
in dark or with blinding light. Some obstacles may not or not reliably be recognised
due to the manner in which the device works. The manufacturer does not assume
any liability for damage that occurs in this case.
• Improper installation and cabling of the reversing camera may cause damage to
the electrical system of the vehicle, including important computer and operating
systems. This may cause accident (e.g. electrical shock) or fi re, which may lead
to property damage and/or serious injury. We recommend that installation and
connection be performed by a qualifi ed car electrical.
• Consult an expert when in doubt as to the operation, the safety or the connection
of the system.
• Do not leave packing material unattended. It may become a dangerous toy for
children.
