• Never point the laser beam at any mirrors or other reflection surfaces. The uncontrolledly reflected
beam may hit persons or animals.
• Never open the device. Setting and maintenance work must only be performed by trained specialists
who are familiar with the respective dangers. Improperly performed setting work may cause dangerous
laser irradiation.
• This product is equipped with a class 2 laser. The scope of delivery includes laser warning signs in dif-
ferent languages. If the notice sign on the laser is not in your local language, attach the corresponding
sign to your device.
• Caution - if proceeding in a different way or using any other controls than those specified in this manual,
you may expose yourself to hazardous radiation.
• When secure operation is no longer possible, shut off the product and protect it from inadvertent use.
Secure operation is no longer warranted if the product:
- has visible damage,
- no longer works properly,
- has been stored under detrimental ambience conditions for an extended period or
- has been subjected to considerable transport strain.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability Insurance
Associations for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are to be observed.
• In schools, training centres, computer and self-help workshops, handling of meters must be supervised
by trained personnel in a responsible manner.
• Handle the product with care. Impact, blows or falls from even a low height may damage the product.
• Do not switch the meter on immediately after it has been taken from a cold to a warm environment. The
condensation that forms might destroy your device. Allow the device to reach room temperature before
switching it on.
• Do not leave packaging material unattended. It may become a dangerous toy for children.
• Also observe the safety information in each chapter of these instructions.
b) Rechargeable batteries
• Remove the rechargeable battery if you are not using the device for an extended period of time to
prevent damage to the device by leakage. Leaking or damaged rechargeable batteries may cause acid
burns in case of skin contact. Therefore, use suitable protective gloves to handle damaged recharge-
able batteries.
• Always keep rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children. Never let rechargeable batteries lie
around freely. They may be swallowed by children or pets.
• Do not disassemble any rechargeable batteries, do not short-circuit them and do not throw them into
fire. Never try to charge batteries. Danger of explosion.
