Envelope Sealing Problems
Symptom
Envelope not closed
properly.
Flap not sufficiently
moistened.
Possible cause
Insufficient moisten-
ing.
The current job has
no envelope sealing.
Documents are not
correctly inserted.
Water level low.
Brush dry.
Brush dirty.
Brush worn out.

meet the specifica-
tions.
Poor envelope qual-
ity.
Remedy
Make sure sealing is
on in the job menu.
Make sure the side
guides of the docu-
ment feeders are in
the correct position.
Check water level,
refill if needed.
Check brush, replace
if necessary by the
extra soaked brush.
Check brush, clean if
needed.
Replace brush.
Make sure sealing is
on.
Use envelopes that
meet the specifica-
tions.
Seal an envelope
manually to test the
adhesion quality.
