4 Safety instructions

General notes
1. Always ensure that the main water tap in the supply line is closed when the machine is
switched off and that the main power switch outside the machine is off or the mains plug
disconnected from the socket.
2. The built-in type-tested safety devices prevent the pressure and temperature inside the water
boiler rising in-admissibly. If the relief valve is ever tripped, the machine must be switched off
immediately at the customer's main power switch and the main water tap in the supply line
should be closed. If the hot water boiler malfunctions, switch off the machine. Call WMF
customer service and do not switch on the machine again until the fault has been remedied.
3. This machine is not for use out of doors. The water system must be drained in frosty weather.
4. The machine must not be hosed down. Steam cleaners, steam-jet cleaners and similar
equipment must not be used to clean the machine. The surface of the coffee machine should be
wiped with a damp cloth or with one of the products from the WMF care range.
5. The machine must be placed on a flat, horizontal, stable surface.
Machine shutdown
1. If the machine is to be shut down for an extended period, a general cleaning should be carried
out first and the grouts separator must be emptied. Drain the machine to prevent frost damage,
if it is to be shut down for an extended period. WMF customer service must be called in
promptly in such cases.
2. After several weeks of shutdown for holidays, we recommend that the full automatic cleaning
program be run at least twice before the machine is started up again.
Hot water boiler data – see rating plate
The hot water boiler complies with the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC, category 1,
module A.
The hot water boiler is not notifiable and does not require a permit. Every hot water boiler
undergoes hydraulic testing before leaving the factory.
The operator of such equipment is responsible for ensuring correct maintenance and checking of
the safety devices.
The machine complies with the regulations in force.
The owner/ operator must ensure that the electrical equipment and systems are in safe working
order.
