4.1. FIRST-AID MEASURES

Should there be a fire in the stack or flue:
a) Close the glass door.
b) Close the combustion air regulators.
c) Extinguish the fire using carbon dioxide extinguishers (CO
d) Call the FIRE BRIGADE immediately.
DO NOT USE WATER JETS TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE.
When the fire in the flue is extinguished, a specialist should check the flue for any cracks or permeable points.

4.2. BEAM PROTECTION

Irradiation and beam protection should be taken into account in the design of your hearth. You need to consider the
beam's proximity to the hearth's external surfaces and the irradiation of the glass door, normally fairly close to the
beams. The internal or lower surfaces of the beam (which is flammable) must not be exposed to temperatures
exceeding 65° C. Picture 5 illustrates several possi bilities.
WARNING
: We cannot assume any liability for poor operation when the system does not conform to the
provisions of these instructions or other, unsuitable products are used.

FLUE

Essential requirements for correct operation of the device:
The internal cross-section should preferably be circular;
It should be thermally insulated and waterproof, and
made
with
suitable
combustion products and possible condensates;
It should not feature any bottlenecks and any non-vertical
sections should slope by no more than 45° from the vertical;
It should be cleaned if already used;
It should conform to the technical data in the instruction
manual.
Should the flues have a square or rectangular cross-section,
internal edges must be rounded to a radius no less than 20 mm.
The maximum ratio between the sides for flues with rectangular
cross-section should be ≤ 1.5.
Too narrow a flue can decrease the draught. We recommend a
minimum height of 4 m. Asbestos cement, galvanized steel,
rough and porous internal surfaces are FORBIDDEN as these
can compromise the device's good working order. Picture 6
illustrates several possibilities.
Minimum section must be 4 dm
devices with ducts less than 200 mm in diameter, or 6.25 dm
(for example 25 x 25 cm) for devices with ducts exceeding
200 mm in diameter.
