Test procedure

Testing is only allowed if the "Notes on safe operation" of the relevant PHE III... voltage detector
are observed (see section 5., page 11).

6.1 Functional test

A functional test must be performed before verifying absence of supply voltage.
When pressing the "TEST" button (for approximately 3 seconds; see Fig. 6.1), the indicator is
switched on and is checked for proper operation (response threshold).
When pressing the "TEST" button, the red light is flashing and an intermittent acoustic signal
sounds, when releasing the "TEST" button, the green light is permanently illuminated. The
PHE III... voltage detector is ready for testing:
 Voltage detector with M12 threaded pin (operational for approximately 40 to 60
seconds)
 Voltage detector with universal gear coupling (operational for approximately 90
to 120 seconds)
(see Fig. 4.2.1 and 4.2.2, page 9)
If both lights are permanently illuminated and a continuous acoustic signal sounds when
releasing the "TEST" button, the battery is low. The voltage detector is no longer operational.
Insert a new battery (see Fig. and Table 6.1 and section 9.1 on page 16). Now repeat the
functional test.
If the indication signals described above still do not appear, immediately remove the PHE III...
voltage detector from service and return it to DEHN + SÖHNE for repair.
