9.5
Before assembling the indicator, ensure tight fit of the hexagon nuts screwed to the
electronic element as well as the knurled nut. If nuts (hexagon or knurled nut) are
loose or missing, withdraw the voltage detector (indicator) from service and send it to
DEHN + SÖHNE for repair (see Fig. 9.5)!

9.6 Re-assemble in reverse order. When inserting the electronic element (3) ensure that the red
"TEST" button (8) and the red marking point (7) are in line (see arrow in Fig. 9.1). Both guides
(5) must engage with the guide slots (6). After inserting the electronic element (3), the sealing
ring (4) must be fully screwed to the housing (1) (see Fig. 9.1, page 16).
Note:
The assembly of the electronic element and the housing re-establishes the electronic connection
between the electronics and the test prod (see Fig. 9.1, page 16) (connection socket in the upper
end of the electronic element and contact pin in the housing bottom). Therefore assemble the
elements carefully without using excessive force.
If the batteries of several voltage detectors are replaced at the same time, do not mix up the
individual parts of the voltage detectors.
9.7 Perform a functional test according to 6.1 on page 12 (or 6.3.2 on page 14 (PHE III...,
switchable)).

9.8 Battery maintenance

Regularly check the condition of the batteries (e.g. every three months) and make sure that they
have not leaked. If lithium batteries are used (see 9.3), the test intervals can be extended.
