Possible solutions
Unfortunately this problem cannot be remedied. Use another DSL router.
7.3 The LON LED does not flicker
Symptoms
the LON LED remains dark.
Possible causes
• Erroneous connection with the LON/FT channel
• Wrong termination
• Erroneous configuration of the LON/IP interface
Possible solutions
1. First check the cabling of the LON/IP interface, especially whether the cable shield has been earthed. Is earthing
perhaps at the wrong terminal?
2. Make sure the terminator setting is correct.
Is a terminator already in the network? In this case, deactivate termination on the CG-S / IP Router+ 1P.
3. Check the data traffic of the interface with the statistics function on the web interface. For this, select the STATI-
STICS tab and CEA-709 at left under CATEGORIES.
Figure: LON interface statistics
For LON, you should see increasing values for Packets. You must repeatedly update the page for this. The value for
CRC Errors must be low, otherwise a wir-ing problem probably exists.
If the Packets counter of the CEA-852 interface is 0, the LON/IP configuration is erroneous. First check if the CG-S /
IP Router+ 1P is correctly registered with the configuration server. Also check the counters for the individual packet
types under CATEGORIES > CEA-852.
