The DeviceFinder displays the MAC address (HW address), the IP address and the subnet mask. Sorting is imple-
mented according to the MAC address. The DHCP column specifies whether the IP address has been assigned via
a DHCP server.
Make sure that the default IP address of the router in your network has not al-ready been assigned to
another device. This may disturb communication due to collisions.
If your PC is in another subnet, with Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or 7 you can access the router with the following
commands without previously permanently setting a new IP address in the network settings. The precondition for
this is that the device is in supply state (i.e. after a factory reset):
Administrator rights or authorisation via the UAC is required for the following commands.
For Windows XP
1. Open the command prompt (under All programs > Accessories),
2. Enter the command route add 192.168.1.0 mask 255.255.255.0 %COMPUTERNAME%
For Windows Vista and 7
2 The command specified under Vista/7 can also be used. Conversely, %COMPUTERNAME% does not function with Vista/7.
