Aggregation Timeout
LonWorks packets are normally significantly shorter than the maximum possible length of an ethernet packet. Thus
LON/IP devices are capable of collecting LonWorks packets (CG-S Bus) for a short time and sending these in a
single ethernet packet. The CEA-852 calls this process „aggregation". The Aggregation Timeout parameter specifies
how long the CG-S / IP Router+ 1P collects LonWorks packets until the sending of these in an ethernet packet. If
sufficient data exist for an ethernet packet, these are of course sent before expiry of the Aggregation Timeout.
LonMark defines a standard value of 16 ms. If 0 is entered, aggregation is deactivated. This parameter does not
have to be identical with all devices. Because use of Aggregation Timeout reduces load on the ethernet level, we
recommend using the process.
With low data load, a Request/Response cycle is extended by the Aggregation Timeout.
Configuration Server Poll Interval
The router polls the configuration server at a specified interval and uses the response for defining the connection
status.
MD5 Shared Secret
This field contains the key in case a MD5 authentication should be used. If the field remains empty, authentication
is deactivated. If authentication is used, check whether all devices in the channel support this.
Channel Routing
With Channel Routing, the CEA-852 specifies a process enabling the LON/IP devices to determine via the LON-
WORKS addresses in the packets to which other LON/IP devices these should be transmitted via ethernet. For this
purpose the LON/IP devices make lists available containing the LONWORKS addresses, i.e. domain, subnet IDs,
node IDs, group IDs and Neuron IDs, of the devices connected to the LON/IP devices in the CEA-709 channel. With
subnet/node addressing this is usually only one device, and several devices with group or broadcast addressing.
Channel Routing helps again to reduce network load. Specifically, the LON/IP devices only receive ethernet packets
that make sense.
Thus Channel Routing is usually activated. For diagnosis purposes it can be deactivated via the checkbox.
