Accessories: Radio Interference Suppression Filter
Radio Interference
The frequency inverter KEB COMBIVERT/COMBIDRIVE exceeds the interference suppression
Suppression Filter
limits set up in EN 55011. It causes mains-restricted interferences and malfunctions due to radiation
from the frequency inverter, the motor and the lines. All unit sizes of KEB COMBIVERT/COMBIDRIVE
can be supplied optionally with radio interference suppression filters.

Installation
– The use of shielded control and motor cables and the twisting of the lines of the braking options prevents
malfunctions caused by radiation from the lines. The shielding for the cables must be applied to both
sides over a large contact surface!
– Lay the cables parallel with a minimum distance of 20 cm between control cable and power cable to
prevent any interference coupling. In the event power and control cables cross each other they should
be layed in an angle of 90° to each other.
– To prevent interferences due to radiation from the frequency inverter which affect adjacent devices
install KEB COMBIVERT/COMBIDRIVE and the filter inside a steel cabinet. Place external filters as
close as possible to the inverter. For the installation of KEB COMBIVERT/COMBIDRIVE and filter inside
a steel cabinet connect the earthing over a large contact surface (e.g. mounting plate of control cabinet).
Removing any existing paint between the components ensures an area contacting. The earthing shall
be connected point-to-point starting at a central earthing point.
