9. Commissioning

a) Inserting the Batteries in the Transmitter
• Switch off the transmitter via the on/off switch (1), move the slider away from the steering wheel to the rear.
• Push out the battery compartment lid (9) and insert four type AA/Mignon batteries into the battery compartment
with the right polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-; see indication in the battery compartment and on the batteries).
When using rechargeable batteries in the transmitter, the operating duration will reduce due to the low
voltage (rated voltage of the battery = 1.5 V, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V). If you want to use rechargeable
batteries anyway, we recommend use of NiMH rechargeable batteries with low self-discharge. For reasons
of operational safety, however, use batteries instead of rechargeable batteries.
• Close the battery compartment again.
b) Connecting the drive battery and inserting it in the vehicle
• First switch off the vehicle. The on/off switch is located
on the top of the vehicle, in the area of the inside of the
vehicle, see arrow in the figure on the right.
• Connect the red BEC plug of the rechargeable battery
to the corresponding connection at the vehicle. The
plug and socket are protected against polarity reversal
by their special shape; however, do not apply any force
when connecting.
• Insert the drive battery in the vehicle from behind; push
it into the battery holder there as far as possible.
