7. Charging the Drive Battery for the Vehicle

The rechargeable drive battery is delivered uncharged and must be charged. Several complete discharge
and charge cycles are necessary before the drive battery delivers its maximum power.
The drive battery is charged with the enclosed USB charger.
Attention!
Do not connect the USB cable to a USB port of a computer/notebook or USB hub, because these will not
provide sufficient current for charging.
For example, use a commercial USB mains unit that must supply an output current of at least 1 A.
Charge the LiPo drive battery only via the enclosed USB charger or alternatively via a high-quality LiPo-
charger with balancer. Never use an unsuitable charger; otherwise, there is a risk of fire and explosion!
Never charge the drive battery unobserved.
Put the drive battery onto a non-flammable surface for charging, e.g. on a stone tile.
Proceed as follows:
• Separate the drive battery from the vehicle and completely remove the plug connection. Take the drive battery out
of the vehicle.
• The drive battery has a two-pole BEC plug and a 3-pole XH plug. Connect the drive battery to the associated socket
of the USB charger via the 3-pole XH-plug. Do not use any force for this.
If you have a high-quality LiPo-charger with integrated balancer, charging takes place via the BEC cable of
the rechargeable battery and the balancer function via the XH cable. Observe the operating instructions for
the LiPo charger used by you.
• Connect the USB-charger to a suitable USB mains unit (output 5 V/DC, min. 1 A), plug it into a mains socket.
• A red LED on the USB-charger indicates charging.
LED lit = rechargeable battery is being charged
LED is off = charging is complete (or no rechargeable battery is connected)
Charging takes about 70 minutes if the rechargeable battery is completely empty.
• When charging is complete, disconnect the LiPo-rechargeable battery from the USB-charger. Then disconnect the
USB-charger from the power supply.
