Changing the air filter
Attention! Never use the device without the air filter. The filter must be kept clean. If the air
filter is damaged, replace it with a new one.
• To exchange the air filter, open the filter cover, take out the old filter and replace it
with a new filter. Close the cover.
Changing/setting the spark plug
Attention! Worn spark plugs or too great an ignition distance will lead to reduced motor
performance.
• Switch off the device.
• Pull the ignition cable away from the spark plug.
• Unscrew the spark plug counter-clockwise, using a spark plug socket key. Do not use
any other tools, so as to avoid damages.
• Check the ignition distance with the aid of a feeler gauge (available from specialist
dealers). The ignition distance should be 0.635 mm.
• If necessary, adjust the distance by carefully bending the ignition bar of the spark
plug.
• Clean the spark plug with a wire brush.
• Insert the clean and adjusted spark plug, or exchange the damaged spark plug
against a new one.
• Push the ignition cable back into its former position.
Adjusting the carburetor
The carburetor has been adjusted for optimal performance at the manufacturing plant.
Should any more adjustments be necessary, then you should let the adjustments be
handled by a professional service shop.
