15. Look out for damaged parts.
Examine the tool before using it. Are individual parts damaged? In case of light
damage, ask yourself seriously whether the tool will still function flawlessly and
safely. Pay attention to the correct alignment and setting of moveable parts. Are
the parts linking together properly? Are any of the parts damaged? Has everything
been installed correctly? Have all the other prerequisites for flawless operation
been met? Damaged protection installations etc. need to be repaired by authorised
personnel, unless it is explicitly stated otherwise in the operating instructions. Defect
switches need to be exchanged by an authorised facility. If repairs are needed,
consult your local dealer.
16. Always turn off the motor before changing settings or performing maintenance
work. This applies in particular for the exchanging of the trimmer string or
metal cutting blade.
17. Only use permitted parts.
In case of maintenance or repair, only use identical spare parts. For spare parts,
contact your local dealer.
18. Do not smoke in the vicinity of the device, either during work or when refuelling.
There is a fire hazard, due to emitted gasoline fumes.
19. Always keep the protective cover, the cutting head and the cutting mechanism free
of mowing remains and debris.
20. Keep the cutting tools away from all body parts, especially hands and feet, when
turning on the motor and while the motor is running.
21. Never try to stop the cutting tools with your hand. Always wait until they stop by
themselves.
Attention: After switching off the device, the cutting tool continues to move for
several seconds.
22. The device is designed to be used with both hands. Thumbs and fingers must firmly
grasp the handle and handle bar. Never work with only one hand. Always use the
shoulder belt while working.
23. Switch off the motor (on/off switch) during the following activities:
• Refuelling the device
• Non-use
• Non-supervision
• Cleaning
• Transport
• Removing or exchanging the cutting mechanism
• Setting the cutting string.
24. Pay special attention to the string trimmer. It can cause severe cutting injuries.
