Installation instructions for boats

Installation of the device in boats must comply with the tech-
nical and administrative regulations of the respective country
of use (e.g. EN 10239). The national legislation and regulations
(e.g. DVGW Work Sheet G 608 in Germany) must be observed.
The "Guidelines for the Construction, Installation, Testing and
Operation of Liquid Gas Systems for Household Purposes
on Inland Waterways" (BGR 146) must be complied with in
Germany. According to these guidelines the liquid gas system
must be installed by an engineer who has been approved by
the inland waterways employer's liability insurance associ-
ations and tested by experts belonging to these employer's
liability insurance associations.
In other countries, the relevant regulations must be observed.
For more installation information, refer to the installation in-
structions for the boat heater Trumatic E.

Selecting a location

The device and its exhaust duct must always be installed so
that they are easy to access at all times for service work, and
also easy to remove and install.
In order to heat the vehicle evenly throughout, the heater
must be installed in a location in the vehicle that is as central
as possible, so that the air distribution ducts can be routed
with approximately equal lengths.
Cowls must be positioned so that no exhaust gas can enter
into the interior. The exhaust duct must always be routed at
least as far as the side wall.
Figure 11
The wall cowl must be attached so that there is no fuel tank
filler neck or fuel tank breather opening within 500 mm (R)..
There must also be no living area ventilation openings or win-
dow openings within 300 mm (R).
Figure 12
If the cowl is being installed in the shaded area under-
neath or next to a window that will be opened, an elec-
tric window switch (part no. 34000-85800) must be installed.
The gas unit must automatically switch itself off using the
Truma automatic shut-off device if the window is opened (ac-
cessory part no. 39050-00800).

Exhaust duct

Only the Truma exhaust duct AA 24 (part no. 39420-00) and
(for installation in a boat) the Truma stainless steel exhaust
duct AEM 24 (part no. 39430-00) and the combustion air
intake duct ZR24 (part no. 39440-00) may be used for the
Trumatic E 2400 E heater for installation with a wall cowl, be-
cause the unit has been tested and approved only with these
ducts.
A new O-ring must be fitted whenever the exhaust duct
has been removed!

Permissible duct lengths

1. Interior installation with wall cowl
(see installation options 1, page 2):
– Duct lengths of up to 70 cm can be laid with any
amount of upslope or with a downslope of max. 30 cm.
– Duct lengths of 70 cm to max. 150 cm must be
placed with an upslope with an angle of incline of at
least 45°.
2. Underfloor installation with wall cowl
(see installation option 2, page 2):
– Cowl double duct length of up to 70 cm,
Can be laid with any amount of upslope or with a
downslope of max. 30 cm.

Interior installation with wall cowl kit

See installation options picture 1 (page 2).

Installing the wall cowl

Fit wall cowl to a surface that is as flat as possible so that air
can flow around at all sides. Drill opening (8) with a diameter
of 70 mm (duct hole must be lined with wood in cavities).
Seal with provided rubber seal (10). Use flexible body sealant
on textured surfaces – do not use silicon.
In the case of thicker walls, first connect the exhaust double
duct to the cowl from the outside.
Slide the rubber seal (10) and clamp (4) onto inner part of the
cowl (11).
