Installing the control panel with slide switch

For existing installation cut-outs:
Remove the cover from the installation cut-out.
Connect the control panel cable (10) to the control panel (8),
lead to the rear through the installation cut-out and route to
the electronic control unit.
Press in the control panel (8) until the front surface is flush.
Figure 25
If there is no installation cut-out, the control panel can
be installed with the flush frame provided.
If flush-mounting is not possible, Truma can provide on re-
quest an on-surface frame as an accessory.

Installing the electronic control unit

Unscrew the cover of the control unit.
The connectors on the electronic control unit must
not be disconnected or connected unless the supply
voltage has been disconnected beforehand. Do not bend the
connectors when disconnecting!
Attach the control panel cable connector (1) to the red pin
strip of the control unit as shown in the figure.
Figure 26
If a time switch or remote sensor is installed, its connec-
tor must be attached to the black pin strip. When using
multiple accessories, the connection is made via a multiple
box (accessories).
Fix the lower section to an easily accessible area that is pro-
tected from moisture using 2 screws (must not be heated
above 65 °C).
Screw on the cover of the control unit.

If the heater is installed outside the vehicle, the electronic
control unit must be attached in the interior of the vehicle,
protected from moisture and damage. Drill an opening of
Ø 25 mm in the floor or wall, remove the connector (2) of
the 20-pin cable from the control unit and lead it through the
opening. Seal with a cable bush. Re-attach the connector.
In exceptional cases, the electronic control unit can be in-
stalled outside the vehicle with a protection box for external
electronics (accessory art. no. 39950-00).

12 V / 24 V Electrical connection

Electrical lines, switching and control equipment for heaters
must be in locations that will not cause the operation thereof
to be adversely affected under normal operating conditions.
The breakthroughs of all lines leading to the outside must be
protected from splash water.
Disconnect device from power supply before starting
to work on electrical components. Switching off at the
control panel is insufficient!
The equipment must be disconnected from the on-board power
supply when electric welding work is being carried out on the
body.
Reversing the polarity of the connections will result in
a risk of cable fire. Any warranty or liability claims will
also be invalidated!
The red cable is positive, the blue cable is negative!
Connect device to a fuse-protected on-board power supply
(central electrics 5 – 10 A) using a 2 x 1.5 mm² cable, or a
2 x 2.5 mm² cable for distances exceeding 6 metres. Connect
negative line to main ground connection. If the equipment is
connected directly to the battery, the positive and negative
lines must be protected. The connections must be of the
Faston type and fully insulated (vehicle spade connector sys-
tem 6.3 mm).
No other consumers must be connected to the supply line!
When power packs or power supply units are being
used, note that the regulated output voltage is between
11 V and 15 V and the alternating current ripple is < 1.2 Vpp.

Gas connection

The 30 mbar operating pressure of the gas supply must
correspond to the device's operating pressure (see type
plate).
The Ø 8 mm gas supply duct must be attached to the gas
connection with a cutting ring screw fitting. Carefully counter-
hold with another wrench when tightening.
The gas connection on the device may not be shortened or
bent.
Before connecting to the device, please ensure that the gas
ducts are free of dirt, shavings and the like.
The ducts must be routed in such a way that the device is
easy to remove for service work.
The number of separation points in the gas supply line
in rooms used by persons must be limited to the technical
minimum..
The gas system must comply with the technical and adminis-
trative regulations of the respective country of use (in Europe
e.g. EN 1949 for vehicles or EN ISO 10239 for boats). The
national legislation and regulations (in Germany e.g. DVGW
Worksheet G 607 for vehicles or G 608 for boats) must be
observed.
