The speed sensor is used to show the speed in
the .FLYER .D1 .display .and .correctly .calculate .the .
assistance .needed.
The speed sensor and the associated spoke magnet
must be fastened so that the distance between the
spoke magnet and the marking position on the speed
sensor .is .1 .to .5 .mm. .If .the .distance .is .different, .an .
error .message .will .appear.
Power supply to external devices
You .can .use .the .USB .port .to .charge .external .de-
vices, .e.g. .smartphones, .that .can .be .powered .via .
USB. . The . charging . cable . of . the . device . can . be .
connected .directly .to .the .FLYER .D1 .display.

5.22 E lectrical motor
Additional . data . and . instructions . concerning . the .
electrical . system . of . your . FLYER . e-bike . are . in-
cluded in the attached operating instructions for
the electrical system installed, which cover the
following components:

• Battery

• Charger
• Drive unit
• Speed sensor and spoke magnet
Information . on . the . function . and . range . of . your .
FLYER's .motor .is .listed .below:
Function
The motor starts working as soon as you start
pedalling when one of the assistance modes has
been .selected.
The performance of the motor depends on sev-
eral factors:
• The .force .used .while .pedalling.
The assistance is more gentle when you
pedal with low force than when you pedal with
higher .force, .e.g. .while .riding .uphill. .However, .
this increases the power consumption and
decreases .the .range.
• The assistance mode
The higher the level of assistance, the more
power .the .motor .will .provide. .However, .
high motor performance means high power
consumption. .The .lowest .assistance .mode .
provides the least assistance but also the
longest .range.
Range
Any . specified . range . information . is . usually . ob-
tained .under .optimal .conditions. .Ranges .achieved .
under .everyday .conditions .will .usually .be .shorter.
Please .consider .this .when .planning .your .route.
The . range . depends . on . many . factors. . These . in-
clude battery capacity, motor assistance level
selected, geographical conditions, road surface,
driving style, environmental temperature, the
weight of the rider, tyre pressure and the technical
state .of .your .FLYER .e-bike.
