Check that the float can move freely
Check that the pump's plug is properly
inserted into the socket
Check the circuit breakers in the building and
any installation fuses that may have cut off the
mains supply
Check that there is a power supply in the
vicinity of the building; the power may have
been cut off by the electricity supplier across a
wider area
Disconnect the pump from the mains supply.
Once you have removed the pump from the
tank, release the pump impeller. Before
reinserting the pump into the tank, check that
the impeller rotates freely.
Check whether the float is caught on
the tank wall, preventing automatic
switch-off.
Unblock the float.
Replace the float at an authorised service centre.
Check the water level in the pump sump.
Unblock the stuck float.
Check that the water temperature is not too
high for this type of pump.
Fit a non-return valve on the pump's
discharge connection to prevent water from
flowing back into the pump sump.
