WARNING! Danger due to electromag-
netic field generated while the tool is in oper-
ation. Under certain circumstances, this field
may negatively affect active or passive med-
ical implants. In order to reduce the danger
of serious or fatal injuries, we recommend
that individuals who wear medical implants
should consult their doctor and the manufac-
turer of the implant before operating the tool.

Preparation

WARNING! Risk of injury due to uninten-
tional start-up. Do not insert the plug into the
outlet until the device is fully prepared for
use.

Control elements

Familiarise yourself with the operating ele-
ments before using the device for the first
time.
On/Off switch (12)
• Switching on: Move the On/Off switch
(12) to the position "I" (ON).
• Switching off: Move the On/Off switch
(12) to the position "0" (OFF).

Assembly

• All hoods and protective devices must be
assembled properly before commission-
ing.
• The illustrations Fig. B / Fig. C show the
installation of the spark guard and work-
piece support on the left-hand side of the
tool.
• Fit the second spark guard and the
second workpiece support in mirror im-
age on the right-hand side of the tool.

Procedure (Fig. A)
1. Fit a spark guard (1) onto the spark guard
holder (2).
2. Use one screw (13), washer (14), spring
washer (15) and nut (16) each.
Procedure (Fig. B)
1. Fit the spark guard holder (2) onto the
guard cover (4).
2. Use one screw (17), spring washer (18),
washer (19) and nut (20) each.
3. Use the slotted hole in the spark guard
holder (2) to set the distance to the grind-
ing disc (3/8).
CAUTION! The distance to the grind-
ing disc (3/8) must not exceed 2 mm.
Adjust the distance periodically to com-
pensate for wear on the grinding disc.
4. Fold down the spark guard (1) to the de-
sired position for working.
CAUTION! Avoid eye injuries. Always
wear safety goggles – even when work-
ing with the spark guard fitted.
Attaching and adjusting the workpiece
support
Accessories required
• Workpiece support (9)
• Star grip nut (10)
• Screw (21)
• Washer (22)
• Lock washer (23)
Procedure (Fig. C)
1. Attach the workpiece support (9) to the
guard cover (4). Use the screw (21),
washer (22), lock washer (23) and star
grip nut (10).
2. Use the star grip nut (10) to set the dis-
tance between the workpiece support (9)
and grinding disc (3/8).
CAUTION! The distance to the grind-
ing disc (3/8) must not exceed 2 mm.
