Operation

Switching on and off

Switching on
1. Connect the device to the power supply.
2. Move the On/Off switch (12) to the posi-
tion "I" (ON).
Switching off
1. Move the On/Off switch (12) to the posi-
tion "0" (OFF).
2. Make sure that all moving parts have
come to a complete stop.
3. Pull the device plug out of the wall outlet
if you are leaving the device unattended
or if you have finished working.

Grinding with the grinding disc

WARNING! Injuries due to sparking! Fold
down the spark guard (1) when grinding.
NOTICE! The arrow on the guard cover (4)
shows the direction of rotation of the grind-
ing disc.
Procedure
1. Place the workpiece on the workpiece
support (9) and slowly bring it to its de-
sired angle on the grinding disc (3/8).
2. Move the workpiece slightly from side to
side in order to achieve an optimal grind-
ing result. This way, the grinding disc is
worn uniformly.
3. Allow the workpiece to cool down occa-
sionally.

Transport

Notes
• Turn off the device.
• Make sure that all moving parts have
come to a complete stop.
• Pull out the mains plug.
• Remove the attachment tool.
• Carry the machine with two hands.
To do this, grip the tool by the tool base
and motor housing.
Cleaning, maintenance and

storage

WARNING! Electric shock! Risk of injury
due to unintentional start-up. Protect your-
self when performing maintenance or clean-
ing work. Switch off the device and discon-
nect the mains plug from the socket.
You should have any repair and maintenance
work that is not described in these instruc-
tions carried out by our Service Centre. Only
use original replacement parts.

Cleaning

WARNING! Electric shock! Never spray
down the device with water.
NOTICE! Risk of damage. Chemical sub-
stances may attack the plastic parts of the
machine. Do not use any cleaning agents or
solvents.
• Keep the ventilation slits, motor housing
and handles of the machine clean. Use a
damp cloth or brush to do this.

Maintenance

• Check the device before each use for
obvious defects such as loose, worn or
damaged parts.
• Check that screws or other parts are fit-
ted correctly.
• In particular, check the grinding discs (3/
8) for damage.
• Replace damaged parts.
Storage
Always store the device and accessories:
• clean
• dry
• protected against dust
• out of the reach of children
Grinding discs must be dry and stored up-
right and should never be stacked.
Disposal/environmental
protection
The device, accessories and packaging
should be properly recycled.
