6. Check that the warning labels on the machine are attached to the
machine and are clearly readable. Do not operate the machine without the
warning labels.
7. Check that the belt guard is securely installed and functioning. Do not
operate the machine with the belt guard missing.
8. Clean the debris from the dredging head and the cable, and check for
wear or damage. The inspection includes:
• Wear - The cable is made of round steel wire. If the outer circle
becomes flat, it is severely worn and needs to be replaced.
• Cable kinks — A cable that is not perfectly straight and has slight
bends is acceptable. A kink indicates a bent cable with wide gaps between
loops. Bends less than 15° can be straightened. However, any kinks in the
cable will accelerate cable damage. Therefore, any severe kinks should be
replaced immediately.
• Gap between wire rope loops - If the gap is greater than 3mm, it
means the wire rope is deformed, which is caused by twisting, knotting,
stretching or machine reversal. If the gap is greater than 3mm, the wire
rope should be replaced immediately.
• Corrosion – This is caused by the wire rope being stored in a humid
environment or being attacked by chemicals.
This will damage the cable and should be replaced immediately.
All of the above factors can cause the cable to twist, knot or break.
Make sure the cable is fully returned to the outside.
Do not expose more than 2 inches of the wire rope to avoid whipping
people when starting the machine and causing injuries.
9. Check whether the edge of the dredging head is sharp, otherwise you
need to replace the dredging head with a sharp edge.
The dredging effect causes the steel cable to bend, knot, or even break.
10. Make sure the switch is in the OFF position.
11. Insert the plug into the socket with dry hands. To reduce the risk of
electric shock, make sure all electrical connections are

Make sure the wires have leakage protection and are functioning properly.
