The following guidelines apply to the assessment of the corrosion rate using con-
ductivity:

9.1.2 lime content and water hardness

By measuring the conductivity, the lime content and water hardness can be roughly
estimate. The following table illustrates the relationships:

The following table is used to determine the exact water hardness:
NOTE
This conversion is only applicable if the water is not softened and does not
contain any chemical additives.
For softened water, measurement using the hardness drop method is ne-
cessary. Handheld measuring devices do not provide meaningful values for
softened water.
