you the chain speed at which the tool
is currently operating by illuminating
levels 1 or 2.

Procedure (Fig. B)
1. Switch off the tool and remove the
batteries (17) from the tool.
2. Place the tool on a level surface.
3. Turn the wing nut (12) and chain
tensioner screw (13) ⭯  to loosen
the chain tension and remove the
sprocket cover (14).
4. Remove the blade bar (7) and saw
chain (6): To remove the blade
bar (7), hold it at an angle of ap-
prox. 45 degrees and swivel it up-
wards to make it easier to remove
the saw chain (6) from the chain
sprocket (23).
Changing the saw chain
and blade bar
Prior to changing the saw chain,
the groove of the guide rail must be
cleaned of dirt because dirt depos-
its available can cause the saw chain
to break out of the rail. The deposits
can also absorb the chain oil. So the
consequence would be that the chain
oil would not or only a small part of it
would reach the underside of the rail
and the lubrication would be reduced.

• Mounting the saw chain and blade
bar, p. 50
