The "minimum mark" is the lower
line of the oil level indicator (11).
The oil tank holds 180 cm
• Use bio chain oil containing addit-
ives to reduce friction and wear. Al-
ternatively, use chain lubricating oil
with a low proportion of adhesion
additives.
• Empty the oil tank if it will not be
used for a prolonged period of time
(6–8 weeks).
Procedure (Fig. D)
1. Place the tool on its side with the
fuel cap (9) facing upwards.
2. Unscrew the fuel cap (9).
3. Pour the bio chain oil into the tank.
4. Wipe away any spilt oil.
5. Screw the fuel cap (9) on.
Inserting and removing the
battery
WARNING! Risk of injury due to
unintentional start-up. Only insert
the battery into the device once the
device is fully prepared for use.
NOTICE! Risk of damage! An incor-
rect battery can damage the device
and battery.
Inserting the batteries (Fig. E)
1. Push the two batteries (17) along
the guide into the battery holder
(28).
You will hear the batteries click in-
to place.
Removing the batteries (Fig. E)
1. Press and hold the battery release
(18) on the battery (17).
2. Pull the batteries out of the battery
holder (28).

Switching on and off

• The blade bar (7), saw chain (6)
and sprocket cover (14) are cor-
rectly fitted.
• Sufficient chain oil in the tank.
Top up with chain oil if necessary
(Pouring in chain oil, p. 48).
• Batteries are fully charged.
• The device may only be used with
two batteries of the X 20 V Team
series from Parkside.
Procedure (Fig. F)
1. If necessary, insert the batteries
(17) into the device.
2. Release the chain brake by push-
ing the chain brake lever (5)
against the front handle (4).
3. Hold the chainsaw firmly with both
hands, with your right hand on the
rear handle (1) and your left hand
on the front handle (4). Your thumb
and fingers must tightly clasp the
handles.
4. Before starting, make sure that the
chainsaw is not touching any ob-
jects.
5. To activate the device, first press
the on/off button (31).
NOTICE! The device is in standby
mode for approx. 5 minutes and
must then be reactivated.
6. To switch on, press the switch lock
(3) with your right thumb and then
press the on/off switch (2). The
chainsaw runs at maximum speed.
Release the switch lock (3) again.
7. Release the on/off switch (2) to
switch off the chainsaw. Continu-
ous switching is not possible.
8. To deactivate the device, press the
on/off button (31).
