Fundamental work safety notice
Safety standard of equipment
This instrument corresponds to the basic safety requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive
and has been designed using state-of-the-art technology. It was tested at the factory, based on the
safety requirements, and shipped in proper working order. In order to maintain this condition over the
expected life of the instrument the requirements described in this operating manual must be
observed and followed.
Please note the special information provided for commissioning the explosion-proof equipment ver-
sion. You will find this in the Ex chapter of the main operating manual (technical data of Ex version).
The measurement equipment satisfies EMC requirements as defined in EN61326 / NAMUR NE21.
As an option, the housing of the Coriolis Mass Flowmeter is available with a safety device to protect
against fluid escaping and is available up to a nominal size of DN 100/4" and for a maximum operat-
ing pressure of PS = 40 bar. This safety device does not fall within the scope of the Pressure Equip-
ment Directive.
If the supply power supply fails, all instrument parameters are stored in a FRAM (including the
present counter status) in case the auxiliary power supply fails. Once switched back on, the equip-
ment is immediately ready for operation.

plate or welding on or soldering parts.
repairs, modifications and supplements or the installation of spare parts is only permitted if done
described in the operating manual. This does not apply to repairs made at facilities authorised by
ABB. More extensive work must be approved by ABB. We assume no liability for unauthorized work.
