shows the vehicles surroundings. The camera system can display the camera images in 2D, 3D, or combined.
The 2D view displays the camera images in a high-angle-shot. Each camera image is displayed separately. The
3D view displays the camera images as combined surround view or separately in the fish-eye or bird's-eye view.
The 4 cameras create a virtual camera that moves around the vehicle depending on the settings made and trig-
ger signals.
The camera system is equipped with a pedestrian detection function in the camera image overlap areas at the
corners of the vehicle to support the safety level.
The camera system is switched when the vehicle is started.
Depending on the settings single cameras can be activated by trigger signals, e.g., by using a turn signal or re-
verse gear.
The control unit offers several functions, such as:
• A permanent split screen or a split screen triggered by a control signal
• Automatic full screen mode for the reversing camera as a rear mirror function
• A permanent full screen mode for the 360 ° panorama view
Videos from the cameras can be saved according to the circular buffer principle and played back within the cam-
era system. When a recording sequence ends, the next recording sequence starts automatically. The duration of
the recording sequence can be adjusted. Once the memory is full, the oldest file is overwritten automatically.
Videos can be played back on a Dometic monitor, an external monitor, or via a computer using the SD cards. To
play videos on a computer, the SD card cover on the controller must be easily accessible and the H.264 video
format must be supported by the computer.
