7 Maintenance
7.1 Maintenance interval
According to standard specifications, maintenance must be carried out at the following intervals:
1/4-yearly for systems in commercial operations
1/2-yearly for systems in apartment buildings
Yearly for systems in single-family homes
Visual inspection
The system must be checked once every month by the operator through observation of two switching cycles for opera-
tional ability and leak-tightness.
7.2 Maintenance instructions
Maintenance must be carried out by a technical specialist.
7.3 Maintenance work
Preparatory measures
Ensure that the inlet to the system remains unused during the maintenance work.
Ensure that the system cannot be switched on accidentally during the maintenance work. This applies in particular if the
control unit is in a different room to the system tank.
Cleaning the station
Prepare the system for maintenance
Change the wastewater level in the system tank so that
it is at the minimum level. To do so, in manual operation
(see "Manual operation", page 30), switch on the waste-
water pump until the pump draws in air.
Move the backwash device (2) on the backflow preventer
(1) into the horizontal position (as shown in the figure).
The wastewater in the pressure pipe runs back into the
system tank.
Empty the system tank.
This can be done via the connection (6) of the manual
diaphragm pump or using a wet vacuum cleaner.
Unscrew the service access cover (5).
Make sure that the float switch (3) and the float switch
rods are free from suspended matter and solids, clean if
necessary. To this end, in case of stubborn dirt, remove,
clean and re-install.

pump (4) is free from suspended matter and solids, clean
if necessary. To this end, in case of stubborn dirt, remove,
clean and re-install.
