Hub maintenance:
See manufacturer's instructions for
maintenance tasks.
Check the rim tape for damage.
The rim tape must be replaced when
• it is coming off of the rims.
• the print is coming off and the material
underneath is visible.
• there is significant inwards buckling
around the spoke holes and lots of
wrinkles in the rim tape.
Check the spoke tension, smooth running
and wear. If necessary, true the wheel(s).
Tyres
Check the tyres.
Shifting /
Check the wear of the chain with a chain
drive unit
wear indicator.
→ The chain needs replacing when the
chain wear indicator measurements
indicates the maximum permitted
stretch.
The chainrings and the cassette should
also be replaced when replacing the
second chain.

8.2 Tyre pressure

The maximum tyre pressure depends on tyre width and inner rim width. You can use the tyre and rim manufacturers'
specifications when adjusting the tyre pressure. Please note that with hookless rims, the maximum pressure of the rim
might be less than that of the tyre. Do not exceed the maximum tyre pressure of the rim or the tyre!
On many bikes, it makes sense to choose a tyre pressure that is lower than the maximum pressure for a more
comfortable ride. The minimum tyre pressure is also marked on the tyre sidewall and you should not fall below this value
either.
