Hoist
See the hoist's installation and operating manual.
DANGER!
Danger of falling and danger from falling objects due to
slippery or damaged ropes or brake failure and malfunc-
tions!
Might result in severe injuries or even death!
Cleaning the rope or products in contact with the rope
using high pressure cleaners is prohibited! Moisture will
result in malfunctions and damage to the motor, brake
and the electrical equipment.
Dirt on the wire rope will result in premature wear or the
corrosion of the wire rope, rigging and hoist.
See the separate maintenance instructions provided for trained
personnel.
Motor, gearbox and brake
The motor, gearbox and brake are maintenance-free until the
number of permitted running hours are realized (general over-
haul).
Clean the outside if heavily soiled.
Keep the brake free of oil and grease.
Hand crank axle
ATTENTION!
Damage to the axle!
The axle must always be greased.
Clean and grease the hand crank axle.
Traction sheave external teeth
(model series X 2050)
Specification of grease, see '4.4 Operating fluids' on page 8.
Apply the grease gun to the lubrication nipple (1), see
Fig. 12.
Lubricate the lubrication nipple with 3–5 pumps (approx.
5 cm
).
3
Let the hoist run for approximately two seconds in the UP-
WARD and DOWNWARD directions.
Lubricate the lubrication nipple with 3–5 pumps (approx.
5 cm
).

15.5 Adjustment
Adjusting the mechanical load limiting device
DANGER!
Risk of being injured by falling objects!
Might result in severe injuries or even death!
The load limiting device may only be implemented by
personnel authorized by the system manufacturer or
TRACTEL Greifzug GmbH.
Observe the details in this instruction manual.
Always abide by the details given in the order specifica-
tions for special versions.
The load limiting device has been set up to activate at a specific
overload. The maximum overload that has to be set up can be
found in the applicable directives and standards (See
'9.1 Directives and standards' on Page 10). The system manu-
facturer / operator is responsible for determining and setting up
the application dependent maximum overload.
The hoist's load limiting device has been set up in the factory to
activate with a maximum permitted overload of 125% of the
maximum working load.
The load limiting device must be set up by the system manufac-
turer / operator so that it activates at a maximum of 125% of the
hoist's payload when the personnel lifting equipment is stationary.
Hoists fitted with mechanical load limiting devices cannot normal-
ly be set up to activate with an overload that is less than 90% of
the hoist's maximum working load.
The maximum overload must be lifted in order to set the load
limiting device.
Overload = maximum working load + 25 %
Model series X 300 P to X 1030 P, L 500 P
See Fig. 15.
Load the load lifting equipment with the calculated overload.
Raise the load.
The load limiting device must react and stop the UP travel of
the hoist within the first 10 cm.
If the load limiting device does not react:
Remove the blanking plug (1).
Loosen the brass screw (2).
Insert an 8 mm, 150 mm-long Allen key into the setting
screw (3).
Loosen the setting screw (3) until the load limiting device
reacts.
Lower the overload to the ground.
Raise the overload again.
The load limiting device must react. Otherwise repeat the
procedure.
