4.1 Evacuation
Because there is air and moisture in the
lines, these components must be
evacuated by applying the following
operational steps (see Fig. 17).
1. On the outside unit, remove the closure
caps of the spindles on the two-way and
three-way valve and the cap of the
service connection on the three-way
valve.
2. With the valves closed, evacuate the
refrigerant lines and the internal
unit via the service connection.
3. Once vacuum has been attained, close
the shutoff valve on the vacuum pump.
4. Unscrew the spindles of the two-way
valve (high-pressure side) to the fullest
extent (open).
5. Unscrew the spindles of the three-way
valve (low-pressure side) to the fullest
extent (open), and remove the
evacuation hose.
6. Screw the closure caps of the spindles
and the service connection back on
again, and tighten them.
4.2 Filling
The outside units are pre-filled with
refrigerant. If a particular refrigerant line
length is exceeded, refrigerant must be
introduced via the service unit after
evacuation (see 4.1), with the compressor
running.
4.3 Sealing test
All connections are to be checked for
sealing tightness with a leak detection unit,
spray, or comparable medium.
4.4 Thermal insulation of the
split line
- The butt joints and all exposed points of
the refrigerant lines are to be
provided with thermal insulation in
order to avoid the formation of
condensation water.
- The lines are to be secured to the wall
with suitable pipe clamps.
- The wall apertures are to be sealed with
sealing compound.
4.5 Changing the location of the
units
The suction process is to be used if the
position of the internal or outside unit is to
be altered, or if repairs or maintenance are
to be carried out on the coolant circuit.
Suction means that the whole of the
refrigerant is collected in the outside unit
without loss.
- Half-close the three-way valve.
- Close the two-way valve entirely.
- Operate the unit for about 1 minute in
cooling operation mode.
