2 Installation location
2.1 Internal unit
The internal unit of the air-conditioning
system is designed for installation on a
vertical wall. The following points need to
be adhered to when installing the unit:
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight
- Do not install close to heat sources or
near equipment which generates steam
or other vapours as these may impair
the correct operation of the unit.
- Areas should be avoided in which the
unit might come in contact with water
or moisture.
- It should not be installed in areas where
combustible gases are present.
- It should not be installed in areas where
substantial volumes of oil vapour are
present.
- Do not instal behind curtains or
furniture which might impair the
circulation of air.
- The air intakes and outlets should not
be obstructed as a result of the
installation location.
- Optimum cooling effect can be achieved
with installation at between 2/3 and 3/4
of the wall height.
- The installation location is to be chosen
in such a way that the refrigerant and
condensation line lengths are as short as
possible.

- The unit should be installed on a solid
wall, which is not subject to any
vibration and which is capable of
supporting the weight of the unit.
- Do not instal the unit in the vicinity of
equipment which generates high
frequency emissions.
- The installation location is to be selected
in such a way that the clearance values
given will be maintained (see Fig. 1).
Install the unit in such a way that the
filters can be removed.
2.2 Outside unit
The outside part of the air-conditioning
system is designed for installation in the
open air. The following points are to be
respected when installing the unit:
- If at all possible, the equipment should
not be subjected to direct sunlight. In
areas with intensive solar radiation, a
shade should be planned for, such as a
canvas awning. This shade must not
however prevent the air flow, since this
will reduce the performance of the unit.
- Do not instal in the vicinity of units
generating heat or vapours.
- When installing the unit, the direction in
which the air flow is blown should
accord with the prevailing wind
direction.
- Do not instal in areas with intense dust
development.
- Do not instal in areas of substantial
movement by the public (VBG 20).
- The air flow and noise should not be
such as might disturb neighbours.
- The minimum interval distances (see
Fig. 3) are to be maintained, in order to
guarantee adequate air circulation and
suitable installation.
