Startup Characteristics
The functional scope of the UD 700 after startup can be defined in the
SETUP. The following three types of startup characteristics can be set:
Full functional scope, with all menu commands visible
–
Only target device download visible
–
Only target device upload visible
–
To cancel the restricted functional scope of the UD 700 (permitting only
only target device downloads and uploads), the appropriate menu setting
("Restriction") must be changed in the SETUP.
Starting SETUP
SETUP can be started either by selecting it in the main menu or by
simultaneously pressing the "Cursor Up" and "Cursor Down" keys for at
least 3 seconds while the firmware version is being displayed.
Extended Self-Test
Pressing the "OK" key for 3 seconds after voltage recovery causes the
UD 700 to perform an extended self-test. This procedure thoroughly tests
the device hardware and restores the device to the state in which it was
originally delivered. The settings for SETUP and the TeleService
parameters are initialized with their default values. The contents of the
FLASH memory are deleted.
The RS 232 interface is also tested. If no shorting plug is present, the error
message "Loopback failed!" is displayed. In this case, acknowledge the
message by pressing the "OK" key to end the self-test.
