PG/PC <--> UD
Before starting the "PG/PC <--> UD" function, use the "Set PG/PC
Interface" configuration tool to check that the PC adapter or TS adapter
module has been assigned. The COM port used on the programming device
or PC must be set in the "Local Connection" tab of the module properties
dialog box. In addition, the transmission speed entered there must
correspond to the value of the parameter "RS 232 Connection" entered in
the UD 700 SETUP.
When the PG/PC <--> UD operating mode is started, the UD 700 activates
the CPU/OP emulation and waits for the connection to the programming
device or PC to be established at the serial interface. A message indicating
successful completion of this connection is displayed on the UD 700.
Note
The SIMATIC Manager and ProTool cannot simultaneously establish a
communication connection to the UD 700.
The UD 700 normally remains in the PG/PC <--> UD operating mode until
the ESC key is pressed. If the UD 700 detects an error that cannot be
reported to the configuration tool during processing of a job, it will exit this
operating mode and display an appropriate error message.
Depending the operation of the respective configuration tool, the UD 700
can be loaded with an S7 user program, system data blocks (SDBs), and an
OP configuration. In this operating mode, the S7 blocks can be read out
from the UD 700 or deleted.
Note
Before loading an S7 user program and/or system blocks into the UD 700,
you must delete all blocks previously stored in it.
