Manual
The specific TeleService parameters for the UD 700 are set by the user.
To set these parameters, proceed as follows:
1. Connect the UD 700 directly to a free COM port on the programming
device (PG) or PC with the appropriate serial cable.
2. Check the settings for the SETUP parameter "RS 232
Connection" in the SETUP of the UD 700 (direct, 19200/38400
bps).
3. In the UD 700, navigate to the "PG/PC <--> UD" submenu.
4. Use the STEP 7 configuration tool "Set PG/PC Interface" to
set the local multipoint interface to "TS Adapter." The settings on the
TS adapter must match those on the UD 700.
5. Start TeleService and read out the current parameters from the UD 700
using the menu command "Options -–> Assign Adapter
Parameters." You can change the MPI parameters, serial
parameters, and modem parameters. For more details on setting
parameters, refer to the online help for TeleService.
The UD 700 accepts the new parameters and stores them in the EEPROM.
The SETUP parameter "RS Connection" or that of the TS adapter must
be set to "Modem Connection" if you are using a modem.
Since not all RS 232 signals are available on the UD 700, modem use is
limited. The UD 700 initializes a connected modem and recognizes and
accepts incoming calls. If the modem connection is terminated by a remote
programming device or PC after completion of a data transfer, this new
status will not be recognized by the UD 700. Because of this, only attended
operation is possible from the UD 700 side of the connection.
Note
Modifications made to MPI parameters via TeleService overwrite the
values previously set in the UD 700 SETUP.
