3.5.1 Safety technology
The ERD rotary actuator is available with an optional, certified
encoder system that can be combined with servo controllers to
implement safe electrical servo drive systems.
The ERD rotary actuator is only one part of the function chain for
safety-related tasks; it is the task of the system as a whole to
achieve the appropriate safety integrity level (SIL) or performance
level (PL) in accordance with the risk assessment.
