continuously.
5. The appliance is now ready to be used again.

AUTO SHUT-OFF

The appliance turns of automatically if there is no action after 15 minutes in standby
mode. All button indicators go out. To restart the appliance, press the on/off button.

AFTER USE

CLEANING

NOTE
Clean the appliance regularly to keep it in a safe and hygienic working condition
and to ensure that the coffee taste is not impaired.
• Before cleaning, unplug the appliance and let the appliance and all parts cool
down completely. Then empty the water tank and filter holder, if necessary.
• Do not clean the appliance with steel wool, strong chemicals, alkali, abrasive or
disinfecting agents as they may damage its surface.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids to clean it. Make sure that
the electrical parts do not become wet or damp.
• Only the milk tank and its lid are dishwasher-safe. Never clean any other part of
the appliance in the dishwasher.
• Empty the water tank between uses. To clean it, wash it in warm soapy water,
using a soft sponge. Dry with a dry soft cloth.
• Regularly empty the drip tray. When the drip tray's floater is visible from the drip
plate, the drip tray is full and needs to be emptied.
• Remove the filter from the filter holder. The filters and the filter holder can be
cleaned in warm water, using a soft sponge. Dry with a dry soft cloth. If you
38
notice malfunctions when brewing coffee, immerse the filter in boiling water for
10 minutes and then rinse with running water.
• After each use of the milk tank, either store it in the refrigerator or, if empty, clean
both the milk tank and milk wand. In any case, clean the milk-frothing system
immediately after making cappuccino, latte macchiato or frothing milk. Milk residue
can block the milk-frothing system, causing frothing issues, badly influencing coffee
flavor or creating an unpleasant smell.
• If you want to store the milk tank with milk in the refrigerator, follow the below
cleaning instructions:
1. Place a large empty cup on the drip plate and make sure there is water in
the water tank.
2. Turn the milk wand knob so that the milk wand points at the cup.
3. Keep the "Latte Macchiato" button pressed for approx. 3 seconds. The appliance
dispenses hot water from the milk wand. This cleaning cycle will run for approx.
35 seconds and then stop automatically.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 to make sure the milk residue is cleaned completely.
5. The milk wand is now clean and the milk tank with milk can now be stored
in the refrigerator.
• When the milk tank is empty and has to be cleaned completely, follow the below
cleaning instructions:
1. Place a large empty cup on the drip plate and make sure there is water in
the water tank.
2. Remove milk tank from the appliance and discard any remaining milk. Fill the
milk tank with clean water and reattach it to the appliance.
3. Turn the milk wand knob so that the milk wand points at the cup.
4. Keep the "Latte Macchiato" button pressed for approx. 3 seconds. The appliance
dispenses hot water from the milk wand. This cleaning cycle will run for approx.
35 seconds and then stop automatically.
5. Keep the "Cappuccino" button pressed for approx. 3 seconds. The appliance
releases steam from the milk wand. This cleaning cycle will run for approx. 2
minutes and then stop automatically.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 to make sure the milk residue is cleaned completely.
7. Clean all parts of the milk tank and lid in warm soapy water, using a soft
sponge. Rinse and dry with a dry soft cloth.
• Regularly remove any residual coffee grounds from the brewing head using a
brush, and wash with hot water following the steps below:
1. Insert the filter holder into the brewing head without ground coffee.
2. Place an empty cup under the brewing head.
