4. Cleaning of the test cell
Usually, it is sufficient to rinse the cell thoroughly with water after disassembly.
Deposits can be removed mechanically with a suitable laboratory brush.
Stubborn metal deposits such as silver or copper can be removed with nitric acid.
In the analyte compartments, the O-rings and the grooves in which they are located
should be thoroughly rinsed and cleaned after the measurements.
5. Use of the ElyFlow-System
Characterisation of electrodes
With the ElyFlow system you can perform electrochemical measurements on samples
such as metals or gas diffusion electrodes. Since it is designed to pump electrolytes
through, long-term measurements are possible with ElyFlow.
Measure membrane resistance
ElyFlow is suitable for measuring membrane resistance. Two analyte compartments
and two reference electrodes are required for this.
An electrode (e.g. metal sheet) must be installed between the working electrode
holder and analyte compartment 1.
The membrane is installed between the two analyte chambers. It must be cut round
and 50 mm in diameter.
The nickel sheet in the counter electrode holder acts as a second electrode.
