Analyte compartment
Only test cells with a tubular arrangement with equally sized measuring and counter
electrodes guarantee a parallel field line distribution.
Parallel field lines in turn guarantee parallel equipotential surfaces and thus a
reproducible potential measurement, as the reference electrode measures on these
potential surfaces.
Gaskatel test cells have such parallel field lines, as the working and counter electrodes
have the same size and are arranged parallel to each other due to the tubular electrolyte
space.
The analyte compartment is tightened with an O-ring towards the counter electrode.
Another O-ring seals towards the sample. Fixing pins ensure that the sample is held in
place during assembly.
The fixing pins can also be inserted in the analyte compartment instead of the working
electrode holder. They provide a hold for the sample during assembly.
