Reaction products of the counter electrode – additional analyte compartment
Often very aggressive ions are produced at the
counter electrode. Depending on the electrolyte,
peroxides, perchlorates or persulphates etc. can
be produced. Even in the smallest quantities may
initiate corrosion on the working electrode.
An additional analyte compartment (83420)
provides a remedy here and can be used to install
an additional membrane between the counter
electrode and working electrode holder. In this
way, the working and counter electrodes are
separated from each other.
Control box
Gaskatel has developed its own control box (control box TP 83700). It can be used to
control the temperature of the cell.
An integrated galvanostat and voltmeter allow to perform simple electrochemical
measurements.
Additionally the control box has two control units for electrolyte pumps.
The complete cell control is supplied with a USB connection to your computer.
A corresponding control software is available for download.
Electrolyte pumps
Pumping hot and often corrosive electrolyte in lab size is not an easy way. There are
some commercial pumps available you may use: impeller pumps, hose pumps and
membrane pumps. When using hose pumps, you should use EDPM or FKM tubes.
In the case of membrane pumps, the preferred materials are PP or PTFE for the housing
and EDPM or FKM as a membrane material.
Gaskatel is offering a membrane pump out of PP housing and EPDM membrane with an
internal regulated power supply (83721).
