Operation
1. Assembling the test cell
First, the working electrode may have to be cut to size:
Width 6,5 cm, length 7 cm
The thickness of the working electrode is almost arbitrary.
The active area in the electrolyte is 10 cm².
The contact screws in the working electrode holder must be turned out a little so that
the electrode cannot touch these contacts at first.
The cut working electrode is placed between the two silicone sealings or EPDM O-
rings. The fixing pins ensure that the electrode cannot slip.
When screwing the cell components together, make sure that the screws are tightened
diagonally to each other one after the other. There must be no gap between the
components. Tighten the screws only hand-tight, especially when using the flat
gaskets. Leakage is usually caused by unevenly tightened screws and not by too
weakly tightened ones.
If this is the case, you can now screw the contact screws back in with the socket
spanner and carefully tighten them so that you contact the electrode.
Caution is required here, especially with very thin samples.
