Fault/malfunction
Motor will not stop.
Motor runs too quickly.
Excessive formation of exhaust gas/
smoke
Trimming performance insufficient. Blade blunt?
Filament does not feed out auto-
matically.
Trimming tool is rotating during
idling even though the throttle has
not been operated.
If you can't fix the fault yourself, contact your nearest
vendor. Please be aware that any improper repairs
will also invalidate the warranty and additional costs
may be incurred.

Disposal

Disposal of the appliance
WARNING! Risk of fire or environmental
damage! Avoid damage caused by leaking
fuel: drain the tank prior to disposal.
This appliance must not be disposed of with regular
household waste! Dispose of the appliance in the
appropriate manner. For more information, consult
your community waste disposal service.
Disposing of fuels and lubricants
Waste fuels, waste oils, and materials containing oils
(air filter, rags, etc.) may not get into the environment.
– Bring waste materials that could damage the
environment to a collection point of the dealer or
in your community.
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging consists of cardboard and
correspondingly marked plastics that can
be recycled.

Spark plug is soiled (is the tip black-
ened with soot)?
Is the distance between the elec-
trodes of the spark plug too large?
Wrong fuel or mixture?
Incorrect carburettor setting?
Spark plug: Is the electrode light
grey and does it show signs of com-
bustion?
Motor is too cold?
Filament is too short?
Wrong fuel mix?
Carburettor mixture set incorrectly Have the carburettor adjusted.
Filament used up?
Filament spool blocked?

Throttle stop engaged?

Remedy
Clean the spark plug.
Set the gap to 0.6 to 0.7 mm.
Drain the tank and fill with the cor-
rect mixture.
Have the carburettor adjusted.
Insert a spark plug with higher tem-
perature resistance.
Let the motor warm up slowly; if
necessary, set the choke lever
slightly higher.

Fill with stipulated fuel.
Turn (only possible with suitable
knives) or replace the knife.
Have the knife sharpened by an au-
thorised workshop.

Eliminate the cause of the blockage
(► Removing the filament spool –
p. 46).
Have the carburettor adjusted.
Briefly press the throttle firmly to re-
lease the throttle stop.
