8.3. Annual check by a Dutch ID dealer
Have your e-bike checked and serviced by a Dutch ID dealer at least once annually. If you use
the e-bike a lot, we recommend having your e-bike checked at least every 1000 km.
Ensure that you store the documents related to the first service and your proof of purchase in a
safe place in case you need them for future warranty claims.
Many of the moving parts of the e-bike are subject to wear. Have the following aspects of the
e-bike checked to keep the e-bike in a good and safe condition and to maximise the lifespan of
the e-bike:
Ҍ condition of the power system.
Ҍ available software updates for the e-bike system.
Ҍ condition of the battery.
Ҍ condition of the disc brakes and brake blocks.
Ҍ condition and operation of the brake lines.
Ҍ condition and tension of the toothed belt.
Ҍ condition of the speed sensor.
Ҍ condition of the tyres and rims.
Ҍ condition and tension of the spokes.
Ҍ condition of the pedals and bottom bracket.
Ҍ condition and operation of the lighting.
Ҍ operation and adjustment of the front fork suspension.
Ҍ play in the front fork*.
Ҍ play in the head tube bearing.
* To eliminate play in the front fork, the separate lock ring must be fixed in place by removing the
bolt and tightening the head tube bearing.
For service or repair of the e-bike, contact Optima Cycles Trading BV or a Dutch ID dealer.

See Appendix 3 for a summary of suitable replacement parts.
Use the maintenance logbook in Appendix 5 of this manual to record the service history of
4
the e-bike. This allows you to check the maintenance and repairs that have been carried out
on the e-bike at any time.
8.4. After an accident
In the event of an accident or collision, which may have caused slight damage to the e-bike,
we recommend having the bike thoroughly checked by a Dutch ID dealer before using it again.
Defects that are not visible to the eye may have arisen. These may endanger both the cyclist and
the children.
WARNING
6
Parts made from composite materials may be damaged by impacts, shocks and stresses during
use. Such damage may not be externally visible. As such, your Dutch ID dealer must carefully
check the e-bike for any wear to parts made from aluminium or composite materials.
